Engineer IT Systems and Middleware Support

Task Responsibilities:

Develop and manage dashboards, alerts, and metrics using tools like Checkmk, Grafana, Nagios, or similar platforms.

Handle and resolve service requests and incidents related to middleware and system operations and applications.

Maintain the IT ticketing system and knowledge base.

Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to implement security best practices and policies.

Be involved in regular patching and updates of Windows and Linux environments to ensure systems are up-to-date and secure.

Be involved in regular patching and updates of Middleware applications.

Oversee and coordinate migration projects within the team.

Identify opportunities for automation and create scripts or tools to streamline operations.

Regularly perform and document backup/restore testing and execute procedures defined by the technology department.

Regularly educate IT colleagues and ensure knowledge transfer.

Ensure 24/7 support of business-critical system by integrating the on call escalation team (on a rotation scheme).

Essential Requirements For The Position:

Degree in a relevant field (e.g. computer science or information technology).

7 years of experience working in IT support and Operations or 5 years of experience in a similar position.

Proven experience with infrastructure monitoring and observability tools such as Checkmk, Grafana, Nagios, Datadog, Zabbix, or similar.

Strong understanding of monitoring concepts including metrics, logs, traces, alerting thresholds, and anomaly detection.

Demonstrate an in-depth technical knowledge of IT infrastructure and security best practices.

Experience in leading end-to-end project lifecycles

Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences on various topics.

Effective verbal and written communication skills in English. Any other language (DE, FR) will be considered an advantage.

Information technology certification on Microsoft and/or Red Hat will be considered as an asset.

Scripting experience with PowerShell and Bash / Shell.

Knowledge in Microsoft Azure will be highly appreciated.( Azure Fundamentals or Administrator).

Experience in the airline industry would be considered an advantage

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time permanent position based in Luxembourg.
  • The candidate will work in a Agile, friendly, innovative & operational Azure only environment.
  • Normal office hours are to be expected, with occasional work outside these hours to perform tasks (planned or unplanned) on the environment.
  • The position holder might have to be on stand-by outside the normal office hours and weekends in case of incidents. It is expected that during critical incidents the candidate can commit to resolving the incident to the end if required.
  • Valid car drivers license.
  • Be willing to travel as required by our international organization (more than 50 different countries).
  • A Certificate of good conduct (casier judiciaire, Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis) will be required in case of positive selection.
