Job Purpose and Summary

Support the implementation of Canon EMEA’s sustainability strategy at the local level by focusing on environmental compliance, product safety, and sustainability-related initiatives.

Assist in the delivery of local programs related to environmental management systems (ISO14001), product safety, waste and chemicals compliance, and contribute to social and educational sustainability activities under the guidance of the Sustainability Manager.

Environmental & Product Safety Compliance

  • Support the implementation and monitoring of local compliance programs related to product safety, environmental regulations, waste management, and chemical handling.
  • Assist in maintaining ISO 14001 certification, including documentation, audits, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of environmental performance data and legal compliance requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits and inspections to identify risks and ensure adherence to environmental and safety standards.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors during inspections and certification processes.

 Sustainability Program Support

  • Contribute to the execution of local sustainability initiatives, including circular economy projects and social/educational programs aligned with Canon EMEA’s framework.
  • Support the delivery of Young People Programs and other community engagement activities in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
  • Assist in preparing sustainability-related content for internal communications and external reporting.

 Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of environmental and product safety data, including waste tracking, chemical inventories, and compliance documentation.
  • Support the collation and analysis of data for sustainability reporting and performance reviews.
  • Monitor supplier compliance with Canon’s Green Procurement standards and escalate non-conformities.

 Training & Awareness

  • Deliver training sessions and awareness programs on environmental and product safety topics to internal teams.
  • Promote a culture of sustainability and safety through regular engagement and communication initiatives.

 Operational Support

  • Provide day-to-day support to departments on environmental and product safety queries and issues.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions related to non-compliance or audit findings.
  • Support the Sustainability Manager in budget tracking and resource planning for sustainability-related activities.

What we ask

  • Degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Chemical Safety, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance, product safety, or sustainability roles.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and other environmental management systems.
  • Familiarity with local environmental regulations and product safety standards.
  • Strong organizational and data management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Desirable: Experience in manufacturing, technology, or consumer services sectors.
