As a Corporate Communications undergraduate placement student you'll work as part of the Corporate Communications, Marketing & Sustainability team carrying out a wide range of tasks to help implement, monitor and evaluate PR, Social Media and brand activity to help achieve marketing, sales and company objectives.

You'll get the opportunity to handle dedicated projects with niche and specialist media, following a brief and managing the process with guidance of the PR and / or Social Media Specialists. You'll also get hands on drafting local press releases as well as supporting with social media content calendars; identifying influencers and influencer relations; and supporting internal communications with weekly newsletters and intranet updates.
Within the role you'll be providing support and helping manage our UK press events and product launches while liaising with PR, social media, advertising and other external agencies. You'll also have the opportunity to support Canon at events including trade shows, experiential activity and other campaign / PR based events.
You'll also be responsible for monitoring daily press clippings and circulating coverage generated. Alongside this, you'll support in providing timely responses to any media enquiries and manage any product loan requests.
What we ask
You must be competent in MS Office and have a good understanding of both PR and Social Media. You must also possess excellent communication skills and a good flair of written and spoken English.
You will need
With your excellent planning and organisational skills, you'll be results focused and have the drive and enthusiasm to meet deadlines while working on multiple projects.
