Job Purpose and Summary

Deliver sustainability activities in [NSO/RSO] to support and drive the local delivery of Canon EMEA’s overall sustainability strategy, programmes and objectives. Manage customer engagement on sustainability, lead social & educational programme activity and, where appropriate, oversee the implementation of circular economy initiatives. Develop and deliver effective local compliance programmes and activity relating to product safety, environment & waste, and chemicals, and certification in relation to environmental management systems (ISO14001).

  • Maintains and continuously improves Environmental management system ISO14001 and Quality management system ISO9001. This includes overseeing all relevant communication, training, data and document management, as well as auditing requirements. Collaborates with local management teams to ensure that non-compliance risks are effectively controlled.
  • Manages and continuously monitors local waste records in collaboration with relevant company employees and partners, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance of hazardous materials used in the company’s operations, in collaboration with local and international departments.
  • Prepares calculations for environmental product fees and submits them to the relevant authorities.
  • Performs tasks related to the use of the Green Dot trademark in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Closely monitors and oversees the implementation of local compliance regarding product safety, environment, and waste, as well as chemicals, in collaboration with RSHQ, relevant local organizational units, and external partners. Manages all relevant legal compliance and reporting requirements, including those related to local warehouse operations. Prepares relevant declarations and submits them to the appropriate authorities (e.g., EPR).
  • Complies with all other relevant local reporting obligations related to sustainability and environmental protection (e.g., energy registration, KSH reports, etc.).
  • Supports Canon's central teams from a local perspective (e.g., in the case of CSRD and greenhouse gas reporting initiatives).

What we ask

  • Degree in environmental science, law, economics, or business administration
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience gained in the field of Sustainability.
  • Native Hungarian
  • Very good communication in English, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of ISO14001 EMS and experience with site audits
  • High confidence with current Sustainability regulations & reports (EU Directives, GHG, REACH, etc.)
  • Knowledge of ISO19001 is a plus.

  • Be able to work in an international and cross-functional environment (mostly with colleagues located in Europe and Japan)
