Role & Department
Canon EMEA is looking for a Facilities Manager to lead our Facilities Management department. The Facilities Manager is responsible for the management and maintenance of Canon’s Amstelveen grounds, buildings and equipment to ensure that the workspace is safe and functional. The manager ensures that all physical assets, including the grounds, buildings, and equipment, meet the highest standards of safety, functionality, and efficiency. The FM Manager also manages the SLA with Canon Production Printing(CPP) for our Venlo site and engages with local CPP FM colleagues to make sure that all the services are in line with SLA/Site Director expectations
The scope includes ‘hard’ facilities (anything to do with the physical building, such as technical, infrastructure and electrical systems) and ‘soft’ services (people-related work such as catering and security). Tasks include inspecting and maintaining facilities to meet safety regulations and managing renovations and updates.
The Facilities Manager is responsible for maintenance, safety- and management tasks that promote a healthy and safe working environment for the building’s employees. The company aim is to create an office environment that fosters teamwork and collaboration, to reinforce the Canon brand and Kyosei principles. The manager plays a critical role in supporting the company’s sustainability initiatives, including actions to reduce CO2 emissions. Fleet Management: support the car lease ordering process in cooperation with procurement and HR teams, maintain the fleet in good condition, monitor driver operations, optimizing fuel/charging and maintenance costs, managing car pool and support CENV electrification plan.

As Facilities Manager you will be responsible for:
- Managing the facilities team with clear roles and responsibilities and objectives.
- For strategic suppliers overseeing and agreeing contracts, in collaboration with Procurement division, and with providers for services and equipment.
- Oversee and negotiate contracts with strategic suppliers and manage service providers for technical building systems and various facilities services, including security, catering, cleaning, and waste handling.
- Responsible for maintaining relationships with all tenants in Canon Europa N.V. (CENV) locations and ensuring rental agreements are up to date, and that rent is collected.
- Prepare and manage monthly budgets, oversee accruals and fixed assets, and be accountable for a €10 million annual budget, while also leading project and budget management for a 10-year renovation plan at the Amstelveen site.
- Ensuring that facilities meet government regulations, health- and safety standards and energy efficiency requirements, ISO14001 and numerous applicable NEN standards
- Responsible for the Risk Inventory and Evaluation process, required in the event of large changes to the building(s) and aimed to avoid safety risks or recommend solutions to minimize these risks.
- Coordinate and train the Emergency Response Team (ERT), ensuring office preparedness with proper equipment and conducting annual fire drills.
- Investigate incidents, maintain an accident register, and work with Security and ERT for effective resolution.
- Manage the ordering, maintenance, and oversight of a fleet of over 90 lease cars in collaboration with Procurement and HR.
What we ask
For this role, you will have:
- Relevant technincal education or equivalant work experience.
- A few years of experience working as a people manager.
- The ability to lead, develop, and manage teams and projects with complex, varied workload.
- Knowledge of technical drawings and diagrams.
- Assessing quotations and making calculations is no problem.
- Extensive experience in checking calculations and drawings.
- Sufficient knowledge of national and international regulations, laws and regulations.
- Commercial awareness and financial implications of decisions
- You master Office 365, knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage.
- Good command of both the Dutch and English languages in speaking and writing.
