Job Purpose and Summary

As a Colour Pro-Print Technician you will be part of a team who will be servicing, maintaining, and optimizing award winning Canon mono and color production Print devices for our customers. 1. Colour Printer Maintenance:

  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of imagePRESS printers.
  • Keep abreast of software updates, bulletins and other technical information related to Pro-Print devices.
  • Ensure printers are calibrated and profiled for optimal colour accuracy.

2. Colour Management:

  • Develop and implement colour management workflows, customised to the customer’s print environment.
  • Create and manage ICC profiles for various printing conditions.
  • Establish best practice standards and verifications for repeatable, consistent production results

3. Print Quality Control:

  • Monitor and maintain high print quality standards.
  • Conduct regular print quality checks, repair and make adjustments as needed.
  • Monitor paper quality.

4. Technical Support:

  • Provide technical assistance to operators and customers.
  • Troubleshoot colour-related issues and resolve problems efficiently.

5. Training and Documentation:

  • Train operators on colour printer operation, maintenance, calibration and colour management.
  • Compile and maintain documentation on colour printer settings, profiles, and workflows.

What we ask

  • 3 – 5 + years of experience in digital colour printing and colour management.
  • Strong understanding of colour theory, advanced colour managements, and ICC profiling.
  • Proficiency in colour printer operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with colour management software (e.g., Adobe Color, EFI Colour Profiler Suite, PrismaSync Tools.
  • Understanding of design software common to print like Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel Draw and Inkscape
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, pressure environment and prioritize tasks effectively.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Technical Certificate or Diploma from reputable Higher Education Institutions.
  • Certification in printing technology and colour management.
  • Experience with Canon or similar printer brands and models. Pro Series an advantage.
  • Knowledge of print production workflows and software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Corel).
