Job Purpose and Summary

Canon EMEA is looking for an IT Lead SCM Consultant for our Amstelveen headquarters. You will be part of Canon's SCM-MDM (Supply Chain Management, Master Data Management, Planning, Order Management & Logistics) domain.

In this key role you will be responsible for leading the conversion of business process requirements into solution requirements and functional/technical designs (data, process, technology), as well as guiding and approving the translation of these designs to IT solutions, and drive the adoption of the resulting IT solutions (ERP including BI).

As an IT Lead SCM Consultant, you will:

Support and drive (where needed) Change Management and Adoption to ensure benefits are realized:

  • Lead, manage, motivate, coach and develop the team; in line with Canon’s policies and processes, and with proactive initiative. Share good practice across IT and support people-related initiatives within IT.
  • Facilitating change management/ user adoption of the solution, by providing expertise and good practice.
  • Align with BU/ Function stakeholders to put in place key metrics (to be tracked by IT PMO) to give leadership visibility and insight into the usage and adoption of the platform.
  • End to end oversight to ensure that new features are adopted appropriately.
  • Highlight any early warning signs that could lead to lost value
  • Participate in trend analysis of all incidents and Root Cause Analysis of Major/Top incidents (especially caused by (project) changes). Drive resulting improvements preventing reoccurrence by either technical refactoring that can be absorbed in project releases or propose changes for budget approval.

 

Provide production support at request of IT Operations and directed by the Solution & Adoption Principal Consultant:

  • Review and approve all application changes resulting from problem management
  • Participate in incident analysis and problem resolution where expertise is required and / or where the issues are complex or impact multiple processes (3rd line consultancy and 4th line resolution).

Lead the team to:

  • Manage external (and internal) providers on delivering to promise and ensuring optimal alignment of the external delivery model with the business requirements.
  • translate solution requirements into solution designs.
  • gather/produce business requirements and convert these into solution requirements.
  • assess the impact of the IT solution and verify estimates on effort, costs and timelines for project proposals.
  • Manage Project, Change Management and Adoption to ensure benefits are realized.
  • Guide, verify and approve the translation of the IT functional designs to IT solutions.
  • Advice on any solution risks to direct related test plans.
  • Follow and protect the design principles, such as no customizations, design for flexibility.
Manage the implementation of the resulting IT solutions in the business.

What we ask

As an IT Lead SCM Consultant, you will need:
  • Excellent Project Management skills.
  • Over 15 years’ experience in IT, of which 10 years relevant experience in implementing Oracle EBS SCM and planning, OM and Depot Repair modules (experience with Oracle CDH / PDH will be a plus) with an excellent track record managing large process / IT projects preferably across multiple countries.
  • The ability to organize and lead meetings, set out actions and perform progress control on deliverables.  Be the escalation point for issues which are raised by project team members.
  • Adept at creating and transforming business requirements into functional requirements and designs.
  • Exceptional problem solving and sound decision making capabilities, recognized by alternative solutions, and confident, accurate, decision-making coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of and experience with best practice methodologies like  SAFe and Scrum, and related tooling.
  • Is recognized as an expert in own area within the organization.
  • Provides specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise.
  • Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends solutions/best practices.
  • Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify solutions.
  • Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.
  • Background in defining complex solutions for integrated enterprise software landscape such as Oracle EBS SCM and planning, OM and Depot Repair modules. Experience with Oracle CDH / PDH will be a plus.
