Job Purpose and Summary

Canon EMEA is looking for a Product Security Education & Engagement Lead to join their IT Security department.

In this role you will be responsible for the development of our product security trainings as well as the development of our training & awareness program focused on Canon EMEA products and solutions. You will deliver (technical) trainings to subsidiaries, developers, and partners to apply the improvements on their products and reduce the impact of vulnerabilities and ultimately improve the quality of products reverting on the reputation in front of customers and partners.

Additionally, you will drive proactive engagement with the wider security community, identify areas for further development to enhance Canon’s security strategy and build relationships with the community globally such that issues get reported to Canon directly by researchers rather than being shared publicly.

As a Product Security Education & Engagement Lead, you will:

  • Be responsible for training and educating trainers for Canon stakeholders on product security aligning and producing Canon security research
  • Ensure together with the Communications team that global security issues and stories are positioned in the most advantageous way to Canon
  • Maintain positive social media presence in relevant locations, positively influencing the perception of Canon on the respective platform
  • Ensure that Security researchers know Canon, know what Canon stands for and are confident that Canon can help them resolve any security issues.
  • Create and manage the key performance indicators for all product security training program
  • Support a diverse range of speaking opportunities, online webinars and conference sessions on Canon products 
  • Deliver inspirational training programs to internal and external development teams
  • Work with the product engineering team to understand product roadmaps and create innovative content 
  • Work with the vulnerability management team to understand which key areas need to be targeted for training

What we ask

As a Product Security Education & Engagement Lead, you will need:

  • Analytical skills - managing numerous information sources and providing data analysis reports to senior management.
  • To be able to educate and translate complex technical topics into subjects relevant for different audiences
  • A strong customer focus – able to meet the demands of internal and external customers and stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills – providing verbal and written communication that is outstanding to senior management as well as other stakeholders such as media and direct and indirect customers
  • To be adaptable – changing direction where required and showing flexibility to meet new demands
  • To form business partnerships that help drive the IT security strategy forward
  • Creative thinking – able to look at alternatives and consider new ways of thinking to problem solve
  • The ability to manage several concurrent projects and prioritize demands
  • Ideally CISSP and/or CISM and/or relevant GIAC certifications

  • Base pay – £62,224 – £73,205
