The Technical Support and Training Specialist role is part of Canon’s Customer Services Department based in Elstree, Hertfordshire. This job role is to provide technical support and training to Canon’s and its Service Partners’ technical staff throughout the serviceable life cycle of photo video products. The products supported ranges from consumer to professional models. The work is varied, fast paced and rewarding and will provide sufficient opportunities to challenge and development your technical knowledge and skills as part of the Technical Support team.

You will have the opportunity to handle assigned technical escalations, these will require your skills and knowledge to resolve them within agreed timescales following resolution and escalation procedures and liaising with various departments within Canon. The source of these enquires will be both internal and external and will relate to problems that technicians, helpdesk agents and customers are experiencing with repairing or using Canon products. As Canon is pro-active in bring to market new products, this role will require the successful candidate to attend training courses, which maybe overseas.
Following on from this training, the develop and deliver technical training courses to technicians will be required. The Technical Support team is responsible for supporting products through their life cycle; this is achieved by analysis of data such as parts usage, repair times, technical issues and working closely with the repair centres.
These tasks are part of the daily work conducted in this role. Canon has a network of service partners to support its vast range of products, this job role will involve the training and day to day technical support of these facilities

You should possess a good understanding and experience of repairing and supporting photo/video products. This should be supported by a good standard of secondary level of education with an excellent command of English, both verbal and written.
Due to the nature of the job role, knowledge of computer technology, applications, drivers etc is key to the success of the candidate. Competent in using Microsoft applications will enhance the role. Training is part of this job role, therefore proven experience is preparing and delivering technical training is required. This role is part of a team performing similar tasks, a team player is required along with the ability to work by oneself on tasks. To support the service partners and customers, there is a need to travel, therefore a full car driving licence is necessary.

Salary: £29,880 to £31,540 +5% annual OTE Bonus + company vehicle.
