The firm is looking to recruit a Marketing & Bid Assistant to join the Business Support Hub based in central Liverpool. The focus of the role will be to provide a content management service for pulling together bid proposals across all UK strategic business units. This team is one of several Hubs within BDO’s rapidly growing Shared Service Centre (SSC).  SSC team members work internally within the business providing support to the client facing members of the firm.




This will be a challenging and rewarding role where you will be:

  • Pulling together the first draft of bid proposals using a central repository of best practice content

  • Populating Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) using the central knowledge repository

  • Using judgement to ascertain when there is missing standard information that can be quickly obtained from the relevant business stakeholders

  • Selecting the most appropriate PowerPoint templates based on the documented client’s bid requirements and page/word restrictions

  • Creating proposal response structures in PowerPoint based on client’s RFP requirements

  • Collating relevant credentials, CVs and case studies for inclusion in proposals

  • Proactively engaging with the business (and relevant BDMs) to further develop proposals based on feedback on the first draft proposals

  • Liaising with the central bids team to update the central knowledge repository with best-in-class proposal responses

  • Supporting the up-front project to collate the best practice proposal information we have across the business




  • Graduate, ideally with a business/marketing related degree

  • IT skills - strong working knowledge of MS PowerPoint, other MS Office products and similar desktop applications

  • Well presented with a professional level of communication – both verbal and written

  • Eye for detail with a high standard of presentational skills

  • Good time management, organisation skills and the ability to prioritise and complete tasks with limited supervision

  • Project management skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Good analytical skills

  • Good writing skills

  • Energised, enthusiastic and results orientated

  • Ability to work well in a team environment

  • Ability to use own initiative and take a flexible approach

  • Prior experience of marketing would be advantageous
