The purpose of this role is to ensure that IT services and change initiatives such as projects or new IT services are implemented and communicated successfully within BDO.  This is comprised of understanding impact of change, ensuring communication and training plans are aligned to change activities to ensure that understanding of technology and business adoption of services is successful.

This is a role for an individual who thinks strategically and has experience bridging business and IT teams so that clear and high quality relationships and understanding exists. This role spans both external communication up and out to colleagues, clients and stakeholders, but also inward to the department to ensure that our strategies, priorities and approach is understood and well adopted. Written and verbal communication is clearly critical to success in role.

 You will have minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing communications, and coherent strategy and using communications to improve the perceptions and credibility of IT.




This role reports to the IT Director.

You will work closely with the IT leadership team to ensure that:

- The needs of our clients are understood

- IT services are communicated and used appropriately by our customer base 

- Best practice and adoption is consistently applied across our user base

- Changes to processes or technology is understood and communicated successfully

- The user experience is optimised by proactively working with clients to ensure awareness and adoption of services

- Opportunities for self service in are understood, particularly in how support is delivered

- The ethos of the IT department is positioned effectively internally and externally

- That relevant and up to date training is in place, utilising best practice approaches for effective training in the modern workplace

- Working in alignment with the communications team that regular communication plans are in place and that key messages are included in relevant messages

- Working with programme team to ensure that projects have appropriate training, communication and adoption plans so that new services are transitioned effectively into the customers

- That service issues or incidents have the appropriate communication messages

- That all channels are understood and that our teams use these appropriately to raise profile, inform and engage

  




You will have minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing communications, and coherent strategy and using communications to improve the perceptions and credibility of IT.

· Creation and implementation of communication plans for key priority projects throughout the year aligned to communications strategy and roadmap

 · Work with Internal Communications team to ensure BDO remains well informed including managing an annual events calendar, monthly team briefings, department meetings, all staff briefings, newsletters, etc

 · Support colleagues to develop and implement change management plans and activities

 · Support the execution of change and communications plans by project managers, service teams and application owners

 · Managing productive two – way engagement forums such as with IT liaisons in regions and business support contacts

 · Liaise with the appropriate stakeholders in order to provide the required information to Internal Communications to feed into regular communication

 · Work with stakeholders and project Manager to feed into meetings as appropriate so that change adoption and communication is intrinsically embedded into what we do

 · Support the delivery of targeted communications to support a particular workstream activity or service disruption

 · Provide other ad hoc support to ensure that the appropriate communications are being developed and implemented to support the change programme

 · Development of strong working relationships to get a good understanding of all activities going on, glean key priorities and identify any communication gaps that need to be addressed

 · Development of new and imaginative ways of communicating the work carried out to the wider company including the creation of engaging presentations that use audience research and insight and tell compelling stories

 · Ensuring that the IT presence on internal social media supports our ambitions

 · Provide support to ITLT with the preparation of presentations and materials as required

 · Facilitate better cross - team working, improved ways of working  and better knowledge management within the department

· Ensure the department are kept up to date with information through the following initiatives:

 · Maintaining the intranet space(Insite) dedicated to the IT, services and change 

 · Lead and develop the communication, training and business adoption responsibilities to deliver consistently effective, efficient and outstandingly professional and friendly service experience
