The purpose of this role is to lead the Mode 2 agile/architecture and business relationship management teams to engage and communicate with the business and deliver agile solutions that fits in with the existing and future architecture. The team will be responsible for maintaining an integrated relationship with the business and support the digital board in the delivery of the digital mind-set pillar of the business strategy.

The role should have a clear and a transparent view of the digital revenues being created by the business should be reported to the Operations Board on a quarterly basis. This should be with the objective of increasing this revenue by 10% year on year.

· Own the reporting of Digital Revenue from across the business to the operations board on a quarterly basis.

· To be part of the Digital Board to help this group with thought leadership in the area of technology and resource any digital Innovation opportunities.

· Build and maintain an engaged and healthy relationship with business units through leading the Business Relationship Management function

· Ensure coherent technology strategy aligned to business goals including relevant and realistic  technology and vendor roadmaps are in place through leadership of the solutions and architecture function.

· Knowledge and awareness of opportunities and capability through public cloud, development tools, services from existing suppliers (eg O365) so that the relevant tools an be aligned to new opportunity.

· Ensure that new solutions are not only able to deliver on business need but these meet our ambitions in relation to scalability, security and integration.

· Our technology services in production should be coherent, aligned and well integrated so our future solutions and architecture should be built with someone capable of seeing 'big picture' for proposed solutions.

· Feed into the digital board on the subject of horizon scanning, making sure the group is aware of potential innovative solutions within our sector, this should also include competitor analysis and any business opportunity that may be relevant to BDO due to future technology advancements.

· Experience of applied research, experimental development and early design activities to validate/invalidate ideas

· You should continuously improve relationships across the company and actively seek out innovative ideas and fresh thinking in order to develop them into strategic technical solutions that are commercially relevant to the business in conjunction with the digital board.

· Leadership and Management of adjacent and disruptive innovations from discovery, to early stage experiments to production in collaboration with other area of the IT function.

· Working closely with the IT director to insure innovation projects are passed over into project delivery, operational rollout and support in a measured and considered way.

· Manage multiple concurrent initiatives and projects of varying sizes and complexity 

· Develop people’s soft skills, such as communication and leadership, as well as technical skills and ensure team members feel valued, confident and motivated.

· Develop an environment that encourages collaboration, team working and innovation both within the your own function and across IT and other BDO teams 

· Be responsible for recruitment, performance management,  career development, appraisals and succession planning across the team 

Knowledge and experience:

· A background in innovation including experience of lean start-up, design thinking, prototyping and also have solid commercial awareness.

· Experience of delivering complex programs involving multiple stakeholders across different geographical locations with a significant amount of uncertainty. 

· Experience of managing agile teams, by ensuring consistency in delivery approach through the PMO and agile functions, and by growing capability in people.

· Demonstrate extensive experience in the IT industry with expertise in areas of Business engagement including Project management and business analysis as well as BRM.

· A broad understanding of the latest developments in technologies, industry specific issues, competitor and vendor activity and initiatives. 

· Experience of working in professional services organisation preferably partnerships.

· Demonstrate a full understanding of the business problems and pressures articulating how IT can help
